This research aims to inquire about the influence of energy markets on reshaping green recovery by studying the role of energy resource efficiency in energy reforms in China. Data was obtained from 2012 to 2019 to test the findings of this data envelopment analysis (DEA) technique. The study findings showed that China has implemented extensive market reforms in its power industry to create a more sustainable future. There has been an uptick in energy resource efficiency since 2016, but there are still problems, especially with the dependability of electricity production. Notably, energy reforms have a significant influence on energy resource efficiency. Extending it, energy resource efficiency also enhances green recovery significantly. This research further shows increased variety within the energy resource industry, enhancing our knowledge of market changes’ implications. The study recommends numerous policy implications for policymakers, including revamping energy markets with more green recovery initiatives, advancing energy resource efficiency with accurate technical support, implementing electrical grid modernization in China, and attempting to resolve regional energy resource efficiency discrepancies.
